This lightweight (Hane means Feather in Japanese) and ultra-compact tenkara rod collapses down to a mere 15 inches for ultimate packability. The 12 telescopic segments extend to 10'10" delivering plenty of reach and line-lifting ability. This length is well suited to smaller streams but is still long enough to cover bigger water, especially when paired with a line longer than the rod.
Don't be fooled by the diminutive collapsed size and shorter-than-average extended length! The Hane packs a punch and has plenty of backbone to handle larger fish. The casting feel is quick and snappy, so it will feel more familiar to those accustomed to modern, fast-action fly rods than many of the slower, softer rods we carry.
The foam handle is nicely contoured, less expensive and more durable than cork. The white blank features a lustrous, pearly finish and should blend in with open skies above. The two tip sections are black.
