Shipping, Returns and Warranty
Orders over $100.00 shipping to an address within the contiguous US will allow a Free Shipping option at checkout. (If you live in Hawaii or Alaska make that $200.00) Wheels, wheel sets, certain racks and other oversized items do not qualify for free shipping and there will be a flat shipping rate added to the order. This shipping charge will be noted in the item's description.
Orders placed before 2pm (mountain time) typically ship the same day (M-F). Orders placed after 2pm will ship the next day. Custom or special order items do take longer and we will communicate with you in regard to estimated shipping date. If your order will be delayed for any reason we will contact you quickly to discuss when you can expect it. If you live near our Boise showroom you may order online, pay and/or pick up in-store.
We ship most items via USPS, occasionally via UPS and FedEx. You will be shown the shipping options and prices on the checkout page before you finalize your order. If your order qualifies for free shipping we will use the most cost effective method.
We use the United States Postal Service to ship international orders. One downside of this is that once the package leaves the borders of the United States, we are unable to track it. You will need to track the package through the postal service of your country. Also, there is no way for us to calculate duties, taxes and delivery charges your country may impose or anticipate whether a package will be opened for inspection. Many times, mail packages will go through customs without being opened or charged additional fees. Just be aware that you may need to pay more than our quoted shipping costs to actually receive your order and that your package may be opened officially.
The flat-rate shipping applied to some of the oversized items listed above (wheels, racks, certain handlebars, etc.) can sometimes create problems when calculating international shipping. Please contact us for a shipping quote if you're seeing an error message upon checkout. Please note that shipping charges for oversized items can be very high. There are also particular types/sizes of packages that we are unable to ship internationally.
To initiate a return, you may request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) online if you have a registered account. You may also contact us via email (email@example.com) or by phone (866-936-3176). Please do not return items without first obtaining authorization. Items returned without prior approval may not be eligible for a refund.
We accept returns on new, unused items for 60 days after the date the order was placed. We may not allow a return for special order items or items we don't normally sell. We are a small business, not a giant discount warehouse. Refunds may be issued to the card/account you used on your order or in the form of store credit. We will cover return shipping costs in situations where an error on our part resulted in the return situation. If the item was ordered by mistake or you simply don't want it then you pay for return shipping. All returns need to include the original packaging, any instructions/manuals, all small parts and/or hardware in order to receive a full refund. We may issue a partial refund at our sole discretion if your item has been used, is missing packaging, hardware, small parts, etc. Refunds will be issued upon receipt and inspection of returned items by Bike Touring News.
All of the products we sell are covered by a manufacturer's warranty which will vary from brand to brand. Please contact us first in any potential warranty situation so we can be aware of the problem and help facilitate the resolution. Of course damage due to abuse, neglect, improper installation, modification etc. will not be covered under any warranty.
