Product Overview
While you can use any fly you like with your tenkara rod, traditional reverse-hackle tenkara flies (or sakasa kebari) are incredibly versatile and undeniably effective. Their design imitates a wide variety of potential fish food and the reverse hackle allows subtle fish-enticing action to be imparted.
The Takayama is a simple, buggy tie on a size 16 hook. Unlike in Western fly fishing, where many anglers use tiny flies to imitate very small insects, Japanese tenkara anglers hardly ever go any smaller than a size 16 for their fly. This smaller fly will be handy for those days when a fish is rising to the fly but not taking it or in waters more pressure and pickier fish.
Sold in a pack of 3, size 16.
