Tanaka's take on the traditional decaleur is a good option if you have a threadless steerer tube and are looking for a sturdy decaleur with high degree of adjustability to secure your handlebar bag. It clamps tightly to your steerer tube (rather than relying on headset preload) to prevent the bag rotating relative to the steerer. The forward extension pivots up and down to provide flexibility for bags of different heights. It's not the lightest option out there but the reasonable price, security and adjustability make it a solid choice.
Bags can be attached via bolt-on mounting or strap-on mounting depending on what works best. See specs below for mounting dimensions.
Please note that decaleurs are quick-release mechanisms, not standalone bag carriers. A front rack is still required to support the weight from below.
- Chrome-plated steel construction
- Fits 1-1/8" or 1" threadless steerer tubes. Not compatible with threaded steerers.
- Requires 20mm of spacer stack for 1-1/8" steerers, 22mm for 1" with included shim installed.
- Bag attachment holes for bolt-on mounting 20cm apart
