The Nine Line is the new-school approach to a top notch, 29-inch specific, lightweight race tire. Its micro-square knob tread design and supple casing provide impressive traction and control. We brought these in for the bikepacking enthusiast who also wants a fast rolling, lightweight and tubeless compatible tire. Can also be used with tubes.
"Dual DNA" rubber compound; Dual DNA is the perfect mix of efficiency, traction and durability. The centerline tread features a firmer rubber compound that boasts faster rolling and increased durability, while the side knobs are composed of softer, slower-rebounding rubber that improves control and grip.
Many riders convert non-tubeless ready tires and/or rims to tubeless which Bike Touring News does not recommend. There are specific design considerations for tubeless systems and WTB is addressing those. From the WTB website:
