Ortlieb's medium sized seat pack is ideal for minimalist packers, bikes with less exposed seatpost, full-suspension bikes or even bikes with dropper seatposts. The conical shape delivers 11 liters of maximum capacity and the internal frame design creates a very solid attachment to the post and saddle rails to minimize sag and sway. Like the rest of Ortlieb's bikepacking kit, this seat pack is 100% waterproof. An integrated air purge valve allows maximum compression of the load and the roll closure features a daisy chain of taillight loops and reflective swatches for visibility.
Looking to add a seat pack but don't want to be without your dropper post? The Seat Pack M works well with the Wolf Tooth Valais Seat Bag Dropper Post Adaptor. Tire clearance is a key factor here. Small frames, large wheels and/or rear suspension will all reduce space between the tire and saddle rails, so be sure you have adequate clearance before hitting the trail.
While this bag only requires 6cm of space on your seatpost, you'll still need at least 6-7 inches of clearance from the saddle rails to the top of your tire. This is very important as abrasion from the tire will ruin your seat pack in a hurry! For full-suspension bikes, be sure to take this clearance measurement with the suspension fully compressed.
