If you're looking for a simple, durable and affordable mid-size pannier you should definitely consider the Sundance. We love these bags for their secure and rattle-free attachment, easy access to bag contents via the suitcase closure and classic appearance. These are perfect for expanding the capacity of your bikepacking rig or kitting out a traditional touring setup. They're great for use on a front rack or as a smaller rear pannier.
Coated Cordura construction provides a high level of abrasion resistance and sheds moisture well. These aren't 100% waterproof - seams will soak through eventually - so best to pack gear that must stay dry in its own waterproof stuff sack. The heavy-duty zipper wraps around three sides of the bag, allowing the bag to be laid on its back and opened like a suitcase. No digging for items packed at the bottom. A small mesh outer pocket provides easy access storage for smaller items. They also works great for drying out those smelly socks or storing smaller waste items like snack bar wrappers, crushed beer cans, etc.
The attachment system is fairly traditional, using a locking upper clip and lower hook with shock cord suspension. Lower hook tension is easily adjustable by repositioning the stopper knot. We stock these with 8mm upper hooks to fit the Tubus and Surly racks we sell, along with most other quality racks. They are also available with 10mm hooks. Contact us to order.
