The Wednesday might just be Surly's most versatile fatbike, borrowing elements from trailbikes like the Karate Monkey and touring rigs like the ECR. If you ride a wide variety of terrain and are looking for the float, traction and cushioning of fatbike rubber but don't need the fattest tires on the market, Wednesday just might be your ideal whip. Come take this bike for a ride!
The frame features Surly's trail geometry for confidence and control in all manner of situations. Suspension fork compatibility (100mm travel recommended) and internal dropper post routing make for easy plug-and-play upgrades. The frame will easily clear a 4" tire with the axle fully forward in the dropouts. Pulling the wheel back allows use of tires up to 4.8" with some drivetrain restrictions. The fork will easily clear a 5" tire, so go nuts! 29+ wheels also work well on the Wednesday if you're looking for a speedier ride in situations where the full-on fatbike rubber isn't needed. A full compliment of rack, fender and cage mounts provide plenty of options to carry your gear.
Component spec is classic Surly - solid, reliable and not too spendy. The drivetrain features a mix of SRAM X5 and GX for a wide range of smooth shifting gears. The 2x10 system provides plenty of low-end without the big jumps between gears that many 1x drivetrains suffer from. The wheelset features Salsa cartridge-bearing hubs laced to Surly's My Other Brother Darryl tubeless-ready 80mm rims. The symmetrical, alternating spoke pattern builds a super strong wheel!
The bike pictured and described here is ready to be discharged into your care after serving time in BTN's demo fleet. The medium size will fit riders in the 5'6" to 5'10" ballpark. It is in excellent condition, 100% dialed and ready to ride with full warranty. Tires and grips have also been upgraded from the stock build. 26x4.0" 45NRTH VanHelga tires feature a lightweight 120tpi casing and a highly versatile tread pattern with deep siping for grip on snow and ice. They're currently running tubeless and have been trouble-free on the MOBD rims. Ergon's GA4 grips provide all-day comfort and the extra support definitely helps keep blood flowing and fingers warm! That's almost $300 worth of high-quality rubber!
As with all Surly bikes and frames, we cannot and will not ship this bike. All bikes and frames must be picked up from our Boise, Idaho storefront.
