New for 2014, Lone Peak's Swayback Rack Pack (or trunk bag, if you prefer) is an excellent addition to your touring or commuting kit that makes effective use of your rear rack's deck space. The Swayback stands out from Lone Peak's other trunk bags with its curved and tapered shape that maximizes internal space while maintaining a streamlined look. It attaches to the rails of your rack with four cinchable webbing loops and secures via fastex buckles for quick attachment and removal. D-rings for an optional shoulder strap are located at opposite corners.
The main pocket is padded on the bottom and sides to protect your cargo and give the bag its shape and structure. A continuous, three-sided waterproof zipper allows easy access to the bag's interior and helps keep the weather at bay. To be clear, Lone Peak does not intend this bag to be fully waterproof but the coated fabric and sealed zips will make it highly water resistant. An adjustable web of elastic shock cord criscrosses the top of the bag to provide strapping location for extra layers or other lightweight, compressible cargo.
The Swayback also features two zippered side pockets for small items like tools, spare parts, maps, light jacket, wind vest, gloves, compact camera, etc. Reflective swatches on the rear panel and both sides add visibility after dark. Overall, this is a fully-featured trunk bag with a sleek look and elegant design that sets it apart from the common boxy, rectangular bags on the market.
