Summer plans for the Bike Hermit and Sky King include several dirt roads with a bit of loose gravel mixed in. Sky wanted a wider tire so she decided to try the Grand Bois Hetre. We will do a post soon but meanwhile here they are.
- Low rolling resistance
- Excellent grip
- Superior comfort
- Light weight
- Classic appearance
- Clincher tires with the ride of a good tubular
And as described on their website
The Hetre (pronounced ‘ATre’, French for beech tree) is constructed like a high-end racing tire, but with more than twice the air volume of a 28 mm-wide tire. On smooth roads, it rolls as fast as a good racing tire. When the road turns rough, it does not slow down significantly. You will be amazed at the speed you carry across rough roads, and at the comfort these tires provide. The best riding often is away from traffic on little backroads or even gravel. The Hetre opens up a whole world of possibilities.
412 g, clincher, folding bead. Available with black, red or white tread. Made in Japan.
